Implementing the HUD Lead-Safe
Housing Regulation

Since its inception in 1992, the Center has been offering technical assistance to individuals, contractors, state and local health and housing departments, nonprofit organizations, insurance companies, real estate developers and others interested in lead poisoning prevention and methods for lead hazard control. To assist communities with the new lead-safe housing regulation, Center staff and consultants are available for free consultations about specific strategies to help their local rehab programs to achieve compliance with the new rule, including interpreting the requirements in what seem to be ambiguous situations. The delivery of technical assistance is available via telephone and E-mail communications and, where circumstances warrant, through site visits from Center staff.
